B.Voc. (RADIOGRAPHIC & IMAGING TECHNOLOGY)
Radiology in India is blossoming and growing at a rapid pace. Radiography and Medical Imaging Technology is a study of the techniques to perform imaging of the human beings in Radiology department like X-Ray, CT scan, and MRI etc. for diagnosis of diseases. In India, the number of hospitals with radiology department equipped with X-Ray, PACS, CR, DR, CT scan, MRI & Mammography facilities may be more than a lakh while there is shortage of qualified medical imaging technologists at the various health care institutes. These technologists work as part of a team with radiologists, physicians, surgeons and other medical specialists. The relevance and significance of radiological diagnosis is getting great momentum these days, as it offers a ray of hope and light in the pitched darkness of diseases and help to diagnose it. All hospitals have radiology departments that need trained technicians and so also the diagnostic centres. Hence this program offers an excellent career choice for students specializing in this field.
- To provide trained manpower for skilled handling of modern imaging equipments like X-Ray, PACS, CR, DR, CT scan, Mammography, Cathlab, Ultrasonography etc..
- To include lifelong learning skills and attitude for social and personal development.
- To include optimum managerial skills and nurture candidates into trained imaging technologists.
- To create awareness of health and radiation hazards.
- To assist in development of new methods and techniques for medical imaging
B.Voc. (CARDIAC LAB TECHNOLOGY)
Cardiac technicians also referred as Cardiac Vascular Technicians/Cardiac Care Technicians prepare patients for cardiac procedures including electro cardiogram, Stress tests etc. In addition they need to operate complicated cardiac equipment such as cardiac output monitoring units and defibrillators. Also they have to ensure that equipment's are ready to use and the cardiologists are familiar with a patient's medical history. Plenty of career opportunities are available for a trained cardiac technicians in the government and private sectors including hospitals, medical clinics, cardiologist's office and other health care environments.
The B.Voc. course on cardiac lab technology aims to develop:
Key skillscardiac technicians must be very detail oriented and have strong inter personal skills to work with patients.
Computer skillsability to use computer for procuring medical data, record maintenance and inventory management.
Technical skillscardiac technicians need to operate all cardiac equipment, need to do the upkeep and maintenance of equipment, preparing patients for the procedures ,briefing the cardiologist on the medical history of the patient etc.
B.Voc. (OPERATION THEATRE TECHNOLOGY)
Today with advanced technology, surgeries and operations have a big role to play to help people over come their ailments. Various electrical and electronic equipment are in use in modern operation theatres for monitoring anesthesia and surgical procedures. The role of operation Theatre Technician is to help to save the lives of patients by assisting doctors performing surgery in the theatre. They are responsible for the direct and indirect patient care. They are trained to assist the surgical and anesthetic teams during the procedures and assume responsibility for completion of other functions assigned. Apart from the operation related work like preparing and maintaining operation theatre and equipment, operation theatre technicians also act as a link between the surgical team and other part of operation theatre and hospital. They must be able to anticipate the requirements of the surgical team and respond quickly and effectively. Now there is a great demand for such personnel, the qualified and trained Operation Theatre Technician, in the corporate hospitals, both in India and abroad.
After completion of the course the students will assist the doctors in Operation Theatres and be an integral part of the care delivery system. Specifically Operation Theatre Technicians should be able to acquire the following skills:
Professional skillsTo do the common tasks like

B.Voc. (OPTOMETRY TECHNOLOGY)
Optometric technicians also known as Optician assistants and paraoptometrics, are medical assistants who help optometrists and opticians in vision ethnics. They work with optometrists helping their patients, care for the most highly valued human sense sight i.e. general eye and vision care. An Optometric technician's work responsibilities include testing patient's visual acuity, depth percemption, pressure inside the eye, colour vision on and pupils reflexes. In addition they prepare eye exam schedule, keeping the exam rooms ready, assisting in making and repairing of eye glasses, clean ocular equipment and other duties as needed. An optometric technician works in a hospital setup or employed in eye care clinics or other vision treatment centres.
The B.Voc. course on cardiac lab technology aims to develop:
The B.Voc. Degree course on Optometry technology aims to equip the students with knowledge and professional skills to perform all the work responsibilities of an optometric technician. Also they require skills to have good rapport with patients, communicate effectively with superiors and be precise in their wok. Ability to work well as part of a team and familiarity with common office applications will help them to be successful Optometric technicians.
B.Voc. (RENAL DIALYSIS TECHNOLOGY)
Chronic renal diseases are emerging as a major health problem world over. In India the prevalence rate is reported as 17.2% and every year 1,20,000 new patients are likely to reach the end stage of renal diseases (ESRD). Hemodialysis is the most used modality of renal replacement therapy, primarily to provide an artificial replacement of lost kidney function, in people with renal failure. Therefore renal dialysis makes the difference between life and death for those who suffer from renal failure. The dialysis technicians administer this life sustaining procedure working closely with nurses and doctors as a part of the patient's treatment team. Dialysis technicians maintain and operate equipment used for dialysis and also prepare patients, give local anesthesia, monitor patient's progress and create written reports for the doctors. Today there is growing demand for such trained manpower (dialysis technicians) to work in many established hospitals, and also in the dialysis centres and clinics being established to cater to the growing needs of renal patients.
The course structure has been designed to include general education and vocational education components, along with English communication and computer skills. The vocational segment has given more weightage in both theory and practical aspects. Also the vocational skill training in a clinical setting, under the supervision of physicians/expert technicians, has included as an integral component of the course.
